Today please welcome a fantastic new-to-us author,
Eri Nelson
Welcome Eri,
so great to have you here with us. Can
you tell us a little about yourself?
Hi, and thank you for having me on your site.
I am nontraditional author who thinks of herself as an author who
writes outside of the lines. As well as weave, sways, and staggers. (lol)
My work is unorthodox as to its approach. However, I hope that it is
also seen as refreshing and something that will intrigue the reader to travel
farther into my worlds.
Do real
life events find their way into your stories?
Rarely, I like to travel away from normal every day happenings. This
way I can let me mind go wild… lol
Do you
ever mimic family members or people you know when you choose characters?
The only time I can honestly say that, is when I wrote Destiny
Repeats Twice. Aiden Black is a personification of my husband, Jeff Nelson.
Jeff has a rapport that can be riddled with whit that to some will come off as
arrogant. And trust me Jeff can be but not near the extreme of Aiden. (lol)
Do you
find yourself going back to the same inspiration for each story or is it always
something different?
I guess in a way. Cause for me inspiration comes in the blank
screen. It is that infinite possibility that I find exciting.
When do
you write? Early morning? During the day
sometime or all day? After the kids go
to bed?
I keep odd hours and they change, as I do in the seasons. Currently
I can get up really early write, carry on with my task for the day, wonder
along our property, push myself to work out, sit down at my desk where I stare
at three screens, and occasionally turn to one or the other and write a few
words down as I proceed onward with what’s happening on the other. (This is
my way of saying I like to play on social media while I work…lol)
How do you
feel about marketing your book?
Well, that is a hard one. For me, it is easier to help promote
another author. Often when I go on about myself, it feels as if I am vain.
(lol)
Oh I love my work and the drive it creates within me. However, in
all honesty when greeted by someone who just meets me and asked “what do you do
for a living”, I say I am an author. Immediately there is a light in their
eyes. However, when they realize I have not much else to talk about the light
extinguishes and they look around for escape routes… (lol)
What
social sites do you feel work best for marketing?
In all sincerity, I think this goes up and down. Depending on your
attention to it.
Do you
like to pitch stories to your publisher or do you wait until you have written
the story and have a final manuscript to turn in?
I have personally only submitted once to a publisher. Choosing more
the creative freedom that being an Indie author has allowed me.
Is there
any other genre that you would love to try writing? If so, what is it?
Hmm, (she looks to the sky in contemplation) fiction is my passion
but how it branches off from that will depend on how the screen feels to me
that day. (lol)
Perhaps we pigeon toe ourselves by thinking that we are but one
genre. I have always thought my books tread many lines of genre. However, many
will read the erotic and paranormal aspects to my books and never look beyond
that. Although my work to me always has felt as if it were primal, action
adventure, paranormal, erotic, and urban fantasy.
Course this can always be up to the perception of the reader as
well.
Do you
always/ever see yourself as the heroine/hero when you write a story?
Actually, no. However, when I am done with any current body of work
I go back and reread. It is then that I get caught up in the story and often
wish for the writer to hurry up and give me a new installment (lol).
Just for
fun, I have a few personal questions,
Favorite 5
1) Favorite Male Actor - Jensen Ackles
2) Favorite vehicle – Any kind
of truck as long as the pipes are loud as well as the tires. (Totally miss my half
ton Dodge Ram.)
3) Favorite way to relax – Sit at my
desk watching Supernatural, Lost Girl, Grimm, or Doctor Who.
4) Favorite ice cream – Butter
Pecan.
5) Favorite outfit – PJs
(wicked smirk)
And for a
bonus: If you could pick any place in
the world to live, besides where you are now, where would it be? (Of course, without the hindrance of jobs or
money needed) Snow Flake Arizona, I had done some research for Destiny Repeats
Twice and the pictures were gorgeous.

The Call From Within
Dearhart Clan Series, Book 1
Dearhart Clan is a series of fast-paced adult books that dabble in the world of paranormal and remain in the erotic pulse of what can only be classified as a primal fantasy. If it is a typical romance you looking for you will not find it in this series.
Eri Nelson writes in a darker world where heat and need are the forefront for a slipping existence.
There is not time for all the tenderness love deserves but if you are imprinted to another, you are far beyond those mortal requirements.
Our author is driven by swift action packed intrigues that often leave you wanting more. As she writes, each new book into the series the number of pages might increase but the action never lets you feel the increasing distance to the final page.
Excerpt:
~Every hair on Kristen’s arms raised as the
eerie cries from their pursuers reached her ears. Seeing Owen tense told her he
was gearing up to battle.
Gulping big
clumps of fear down her throat, a coarse cry came from Kristen. “Is it
Brinston?”
“If that’s the
ex”—he spit out the ex part as if the whole knowledge that she could once bed a
Shapeshifter revolted him—“then yes.”
Foot to pedal,
Owen pushed the gas on the old ford to its max. There was no way the old
rusted-out bucket was going to run much farther ahead of the herd of shifters
hot on their tail.
Claws on the
roof screeched forth like nails on a chalkboard. They were on them, and it was
a matter of the time before the truck would be thrown to the side of the road.
A figure close
to the look of a rhino came in so fast that it crashed into the driver’s side
of the Ford, knocking the panels inward. Kristen screamed in horror with the
sight of the blood running down Owen’s left side. Now she was pissed off; how
dare they touch him? An instant reflection of possessiveness’s of him was
clearing the way for her rage as she looked to the floor of the cab for a
weapon. Her fingers felt their way to something metallic. When lifting her
prize, she found herself quite proud to be gripping a grease-covered crowbar.
However, just as her courage was lifted by the odd shaped metal weapon, the
large plate-protected creature once again drove into their vehicle, lifting it
up off it’s axles. With one heave of its mighty head, it sent them flying over
the edge of the road. Rolling repeatedly, they went, stopping only when they
collided with a long-standing grand pine.
Bloodied and
crash-ridden, the two found they were looking at each other. Owen, gazing on at
Kristen clutching a blackened crowbar, said, “I don’t suppose if I asked you to
stay here you would listen?”
“Not like hell,”
she replied. If he were going out there, then so was she. Losing him was not an
option!
