Author, author... A Long Time Coming by Heather Van Fleet
...read all about her!!
Abigail Orson has a problem. A love problem to be precise; and she
has absolutely no idea how to go about fixing it.
She spun around,
nibbling on her lip, grabbing both of his hands as she pulled him slowly along
with her. Her eyes were so focused and shiny that he barely remembered his own
name, let alone what he was about to say.
Woohoo, so excited to have you here. Can you tell us a little about yourself...
Well, I’m
all sorts of unexciting. I’m a mom of three little girls, a wife to my hubby
and high school sweet heart, an obsessive White Chocolate Mocha/Crème Brulee
drinker, an author of all things young adult and new adult, a blogger, and yes,
of course a reader too.
What is your favorite childhood
Christmas memory?
My favorite
Christmas Memory was always Christmas Eve. My parents, brothers, and I would
always go out for pizza and then Christmas light hunt. I remember doing that
more than I do even any Christmas days to be honest.
Do you like to decorate your
house? Anything special that you do for
your decorating?
I’m kind of
a bah–humbug girl to be honest. But I have to try for my girls. We don’t do
outside decorations, but we do, do the tree, and a few indoor knick knacks here
and there.
Do you have any special tradition
that your family celebrates for the Christmas Holiday?
We always
have a big Christmas Eve with my hubby’s family and then on Christmas day we do
my side of the family.
Are you the holiday cook or do you
let someone else do the cooking?
I can cook
one thing. Sugar cookies and that’s it. Unfortunately I don’t cook. My husband
does all that. It’s not that I don’t like it, it’s just that I’m not very good
at it. L
Do you like to be where there is snow
for the holidays or are you (or want to be) a snowbird that likes to fly south
for the winter?
I love
snow…but after Christmas, it can all go away and I’d be fine with that.
Definitely gets me in the Christmas mood though, so I suppose that’s a good
thing.
As a reader, do you like to read
Christmas stories?
Not
particularly. Mainly because I’m not a huge fan of the holiday. (Gasp…I know.
Sorry!!)
As a writer, do you like to write
Christmas stories?
I did write
a Christmas story once. It was published and everything, but the pub house shut
down so it’s no longer out there. I enjoy writing that story. It was my first
‘sexy’ book too. But I don’t think I want to do it again.
Do you give the gift of reading for
Christmas?
Oh yes, my
girls get books every year. And for the first time ever, my mom wants me to buy
her a book for Christmas this year. I was all like ‘yeah, thanks Mom, for finally
reading my books,” and she’s like ‘no…I just want the last Hunger Games book so
I don’t have to wait for the move.’ J Nothing like parental support, huh? Lol
For fun, I have a few personal
questions,
Your Favorite 5
1)
Favorite Christmas song -
I don’t know
the title. But I know it’s a duo. Maybe it’s called “Baby it’s Cold Outside.”
2)
Favorite Christmas movie-
A Christmas
Story of course.
3)
Favorite Christmas story –
I don’t know
any! Ah!! *runs and hides*
4)
Favorite Christmas color-
Gold
5)
Favorite Christmas food -
Ham and
cheesy potatoes
And
for a bonus, if you were given the gift of travel to anywhere for the holidays,
where would you want to go???
Hawaii!!!
Granted there wouldn’t be snow, but I could tolerate the beach just once if I had to. J
Where can our readers find you??

Is there an upcoming or current
release you would like to share with us today and where can we find it?
Well, my
very first release, A Long Time Coming was my last book released. It’s a
contemporary New Adult/Young Adult. You can find it here:
Abigail Orson has a problem. A love problem to be precise; and she
has absolutely no idea how to go about fixing it.
For years now, she has been chasing her best friend’s
brother—demanding things from him that he’s never wanted to give. For one? A
real relationship that surpasses well beyond that dreaded ‘just friends’ zone.
You see, David Anderson is her idea of perfection to a T. The one and only guy
who has ever had the ability to make her heart beat faster; make her toes curl
with the simple blink of his long, girly lashes. But David is also a recovering
amputee, and the only thing he really wants from Abigail is to be left alone.
Abigail is a fighter though, and losing the one guy who has ruined her for
every other is no longer an option.
A guy with one leg who has lost his motivation to live—to
love—to actually be a man. David believes he’s a waste of space. If only the
beautiful girl of his unattainable dreams would get that through her perfect,
blonde, stubborn head! He’s not the right guy for Abigail. He’ll never be
worthy of what she deserves. However, staying away is almost impossible,
especially when he’s just as in love with her as she is with him. But Abigail
has a life ahead of her, one that’s definitely livable without a
nineteen–year–old gimp like him holding her down. What makes her want to stick
around is beyond questionable to David’s mind.
Choices will be made. Lines will be drawn. And together,
they will face challenges that nobody saw coming. David and Abigail may have
had almost fourteen years to fall in love, but the thing is, timing and love
have never exactly worked in their favor.
It has been years in the making, and definitely A Long Time
Coming for David and Abigail. Let’s hope they don’t screw it up before they
actually have the chance to get it right…

Excerpt :
She spun around,
nibbling on her lip, grabbing both of his hands as she pulled him slowly along
with her. Her eyes were so focused and shiny that he barely remembered his own
name, let alone what he was about to say.
“No crutches, David.”
They made it to the edge of the floor, just as the tempo of
the music slowed, to that of a seductive, rhythmic beat. She pulled his hands
towards her, and he took that non–verbal command, wrapping his arms around her
waist. His fingers knew just what to do, settling into the curves of her body
right above her perfect ass. Those damn traitorous body parts had a mind of
their own.
“I won’t let you fall…” she whispered in his ear, running
her fingers through the back of his hair like a vixen who he wanted to steal
away forever, only, though, so he could lock her up with him in the backseat of
her car again.
Shit …it wasn’t the fear of falling that worried him. Oh
no…it was the fear of never wanting to let her go again.

Cover Reveal: Seizing Fate by Heather Van Fleet
(so excited for this book :)...just sayin')
Seizing Fate
(Predetermined #2)
Young adult
Paranormal romance
Seizing
Fate blurb:
And you thought Emmy’s life was a hot
mess before…
Jack’s gone
off to Arizona with his brother, but for how long? Emmy doesn’t have a clue. In
his place, though, is Zachary. The whiny, miserable, alpha wolf–boy who is more
than ready to take on the duty of her mate/boyfriend — if she’d let him, that
is. But the last thing Emmy wants is to deal with a boy who believes that the
world should fall solely at his feet whenever he demands it.
But hey, at
least her step–douche is gone, and her life is back to an almost normal sense,
right?
Wrong again, Emmy’s life will never
again be normal…
With her
Uncle Prick in town and her best friend acting as secretive as ever, Emmy finds
new challenges to overcome — challenges that no seventeen–year–old girl should
ever have to deal with. For one thing, what is up with her dream–liaison status
anyway? What does it mean, really? And why does her little brother have to go
through it too? And then there’s her mom. The lady is acting a tad bit odd, to
put it nicely. After all these years, she finally wants to step up and be a
parental figure? Heck no! Emmy’s definitely not copacetic with that idea.
But with the bad, there’s got to be
some good out there for her somewhere, right?
Add in the
wolves, witches, drama, and lots of kisses and you get Emmy the Extraordinaire,
the girl with strawberry–colored hair, and a chip on her shoulder. She’s
finally on her way to finding out what her life and her future both have in
store for her, even if the road to getting there is nowhere near as easy as she
hoped it would be. But Emmy is tough, and more than ready to take on life with
her bare hands.
It’s just
too bad she’s madly, desperately, insanely in love with a boy who insists on
making her life both a miserable hell and utter perfection at the same time.
Excerpt:
Pressure, fire, wetness, tongues — single words were all I could think as our mouths battled. God, I’d never been kissed like this before. Ever, and if we stopped, I’d die a happy woman from his lips touching mine alone. He tugged his hand into the back of my hair, pulling my chin upwards, yanking me towards him. I clawed at his shirt, ready to rip it from his massive body. I pulled at his jacket first, lowering it over his shoulders until it fell to the floor. The buttons jingled against the tile, scattering over our feet. Damn, if he didn’t care about his signature black coat falling apart, then I had to wonder what else I could get away with.

Seventeen-year-old Emmy O’Connell is
the epitome of a hot mess.
Her
boyfriend’s been shipped out of town to some boarding school four states away.
Her step-douche is constantly drunk and badgering her. And then there’s her
good-ole-mom… The lady is nothing more than a miserable shell of a woman. She’s

The jerk
cousin of her boyfriend becomes Emmy’s worst nightmare…times ten. He’s cruel.

Excerpt:
“That smart mouth
doesn’t sit well with me,” he licked his lips. His eyes never wavered from mine.
I nibbled on my lower lip, just as a small
smile graced the edges of my mouth. Oh yeah, my bravado was about ready to kick
some ass. I think I kind of liked being a smart ass.
“What are you going
to do about it Jack?” I inhaled a breath, taking in his warm, delicious scent.
My throat went even drier
than before. I practically stared holes into his face
as I studied every tiny mark, every single scar on his perfectly flawed skin.
He was gorgeous, with a little scar here, a little white patch there. His hotness
could have left me breathless for days if I kept up my perusal any longer.
And then I blinked,
Christ. I knew exactly what had to be done. I had to kiss him. I had to get
this itch scratched and then I had to move on. His eyes darkened, his breath was
warm and heavy over my face, and he licked his lips. I blinked. Holy-balls… He
wanted to kiss me too.
That ever-present
electricity running between us wouldn’t stop. If anything, it only increased
our pull. I moved in; his lips touching my lips was all I wanted. I needed to
feel again, feel it all with a boy who hated me, but apparently wanted to kiss
me as badly.
Dryness on dryness soon changed to warmth on
warmth, and when I pressed my mouth fully to his, his hands left my neck, and
went to my waist. His fingernails dug into my sides and the son of a bitch
pushed me away from him.
So there I was, my
head tilted to the side, ready, willing, and able to do whatever the hell this
moment led us too, and all he could do was chuckle. Yes. Chuckle. He was the
biggest rat bastard.
Ever.

Review: When It's Least Expected by Heather Van Fleet
When It’s Least Expected
By Heather Van Fleet |
Enter Mason Daniel,
the egotistical, sexy, surfer boy from California – a boy with his own hidden
demons, and even bigger secret agenda.
Mason isn’t right for
Harley. He knows this better than anyone. He’s the epitome of a runner–a guy who
takes what he can get, only to split a short while later. But he can’t deny the
emotions that Harley brings out of him, so he’s going to break his rules for
once.
He should have known
what it would lead to… Two kindred souls – both lost and then found. Will they
fail, once again, in their search for contentment and happiness, or will they
finally find true love, when it’s least expected?
My Review:
WOOHOO !!!!
When It's Least Expected wasn't at all what I expected but it is what the title says, 'when it's least expected', you read a book that throws you completely! I didn't used to be a YA reader but I am truly and thoroughly hooked. As an author, i know the feeling of that nail-biting pulling-your-hair-out having to wait for a review , not knowing if the reader will like it but our author, Heather Van Fleet shouldn't ever have to worry about this one again.
What a great story and I loved Harley !!! I also truly believe that surfer boy Mason is her perfect match! ( my daughter would seriously be crushing on him :) The characters in When It's Least Expected were definitely well developed with depth, personal character and conflict. This story touched on alot of issues, a steady mix of that high school love/hate drama and actually what teenagers go through on a daily basis in their lives. Cause let me tell you, having a high schooler myself, lord knows I know drama. Ms. Van Fleet knocked this one out of the park for sure !
I hesitate to say too much because I want other readers to experience and fall in love with the book themselves instead of getting all the good stuff here but I will say that this story is now taking top ranks in my favorite YA books and i really hope that book 2 doesn't take too long.....
Heather, you ROCK !!! (oh and I LOVE the cover :))

Mason’s heart raced, his hands
trembled. His mouth went dry. Finally, she turned around, and shit … there was
no way he could tear his eyes away at that point.
Damn, when had he turned into a
creeper?
Her profile appeared first as she
dug her slender hand into some wallet thingy. And then boom, she finally
glanced up at him.
He gaped, and then he blinked. Holy
… shit … the girl … was a goddess.
His body numbed, his eyes bugged
from his head. The breath in his chest was lost in that stunned sort of way,
just as the sexy as sin creature, with the chocolate brown eyes, glared back at
him. Mason blinked again, this time his jaw practically became unhinged. He
knew he should look away, or maybe at least wipe the drool hanging from his
mouth, but he was too frozen in place to do a damn thing.
“What the hell are you staring at?”
she snarled. Her upper lip curled on one side, Elvis style.
Damn… Who knew grimaces could be so sexy? She
owned that grimace – worked it like it was her sex slave. Like a love sick
puppy, Mason found himself grinning back at her, only to get assaulted with more
nasty words from that pretty full-lipped mouth.
“Umm, are you going to answer me
sometime tonight, pal, or are you just going to stand there, grinning like the
idiot you most likely are?” She finished wiping off her hands with some sort of
napkin before she moved in closer, stalking him with fierceness in her hateful
eyes.
The site of her body coming near should have had
Mason running, but he didn’t. Couldn’t was the better word. He needed to be
near her. Hell, he needed to touch her… He tucked his hands back in his pockets
to keep from doing just that. He had to get control before he did something
stupid.
“I couldn’t help but notice your
little problem, so I thought I’d be your knight in shining armor tonight…” he
winked. God, where did all his game go? He wanted to smack his own face, but he was too distracted by
the sudden appearance of her barely there freckles across her cream colored
skin. In fact, the closer she got to him, the harder he tightened his fists to
fight off the freakish urge to reach out and play connect the dots with them.
He shook his head, clearing his
pussy thoughts, taking a breath to steady his voice at the same time. He wiped
a damp palm down the front of his face. There was no way some little Midwestern
girl, with hair that resembled midnight ocean waves, was going to get to him.
“Wow, I’ve got my own very own hero
here, Abs. Why ever didn’t you tell me?” She tried her hand at an Alabama
drawl, fanning her face at the same time. Her attitude should have turned him
off, but damn if it didn’t draw him in more.
“Hey now, no need to get an attitude
with me, little beast,” he replied, digging the lost key chain from his pocket.
Her eyes narrowed down at his hands, reaching out to swipe it from him. He
grinned, holding it above his head. No way was he letting it go that easily.
It was play time.
