Welcome Angela, so great to have you here with us. Can you tell us a little about yourself?
Thank you for having
me! I am a work-at-home mother of two, a five year old girl and a two year old
boy. I live in Northern Utah currently, but call the small town of Price in
Central Utah my hometown. I love to be outdoors and anything to do with an
ocean.
Do real life
events find their way into your stories?
I think there are real life
situations in my stories. In Stolen Time, Keaira has a traumatic experience that
changed her life. She has to find the strength in herself to move on from that
and live her life on her own terms. On the other hand, the reason I love to
read and write is to leave the worries and the stress of real life behind, to
enjoy seeing a new world unfold. I want the same for my readers.
Do you ever
mimic family members or people you know when you choose characters?
I would say most of my
secondary characters are based on real people in my life. The history teacher
in the beginning of Stolen Time is basically my high school history teacher. It
was my way of leaving a little tribute to him and saying thank you.
Do you find
yourself going back to the same inspiration for each story or is it always
something different?
Finding an inspiration for my
stories is easy for me. I see it in the people I meet, the songs I listen to
and even the things my five year old says. It is always different. After I
start writing the characters pretty much take it from there. They tell the
story after I come up with the idea.
When do you
write? Early morning? During the day
sometime or all day? After the kids go
to bed?
Writing on a schedule is
difficult for me. I have a part job and I’m a full time mom. Usually nap time
is my writing time. This time of year is hunting season though, and my husband
is an avid hunter. That means after the kids go to bed I’ll be writing until
midnight or so. I love to write when the house is quiet.
How do you feel
about marketing your book?
This is my debut. I’m new to
it, but I’m enjoying it. I believe in soft marketing, reserving time and energy
I have at the end of the day for writing the second book in The Time Series,
Present Thought.
What social
sites do you feel work best for marketing?
Facebook and twitter are the
big ones right now. Who knows what tomorrow will bring though. That is why
keeping your website and blog up-to-date is important. Facebooks will come and
go but your website is yours forever.
Do you like to
pitch stories to your publisher or do you wait until you have written the story
and have a final manuscript to turn in?
I sent the manuscript for
Present Thought, the second book in the series, into Tri-Destiny Publishing and
was offered a contract. However, they felt something was missing and it would
give me the opportunity to grow as a writer if I wrote a prequel. I pitched
Stolen Time to them. They asked me to write it and here we are ten months
later.
Is there any
other genre that you would love to try writing?
If so, what is it?
Writing in the New Adult genre
is where I’ve always wanted to be. I like to try new things though. I do think
that writing science fiction would be fun and I have outlined a contemporary
romance based on a dear friend’s battle with cancer.
Do you always/ever
see yourself as the heroine/hero when you write a story?
This is a great question! I don’t really see myself as my heroine. She
is much stronger than I am. Sometimes I think that she represents a part of me,
the part that would do anything for those that they love. I would think all
mothers feel that way though.
Just for fun, I
have a few personal questions,
Favorite 5
1) Favorite Male Actor - Robert
Downey Jr.
2) Favorite vehicle – Such a hard question for me! I really love old
trucks, like a ’37 Chevy.
3) Favorite way to relax – Curl up on the coach watching a movie with my
husband.
4) Favorite ice cream – Ben and Jerry’s Chocolate Brownie
5) Favorite outfit – My favorite shoes – brown felt boots with a
line of fringe down the side. If I wear these, whatever else I’m wearing
becomes my favorite outfit.
And for a
bonus: If you could pick any place in
the world to live, besides where you are now, where would it be? (Of course, without the hindrance of jobs or
money needed)
I love that I have mountains
where I live now. The only thing that would make Utah better would be a beach.
New Zealand would be the perfect place for me. It has a large mountain range
and a beautiful ocean. I’d even take just a few weeks there. J
Where can our
readers find you??
Is there an
upcoming or current release you would like to share with us today and where can
we find it?
Thank you! Stolen Time is a New
Adult/Urban Fantasy novella that was released on October 22nd.
Tragedy has made Keaira wise beyond her twenty years. Forced
to work for the General, a commanding man who blackmailed his way into her
life, she was ordered to study self-defense and master knife throwing. In the
hidden community of Shifters, falcons are considered weak, a fact which may
ultimately save her life. To escape his cruelty, she will need to call upon her
quick-witted falcon side, but the General has other plans – ones which involve
his only son, Carson.
When unexpected feelings form between Keaira and Carson, the
General quickly moves his pieces into place, launching his quest to take over
the world. If she wants to survive, Keaira must stay one step ahead in the
General’s deadly game and discover his weaknesses. Even if it means risking her
life and the lives of those she cares about most.
With war on the horizon, sides are being drawn. Deadly secrets must be exposed. Time is
running out for Keaira and all of mankind.

One last thing before we let you leave us today. Do you have a favorite recipe you'd
like to share? I like to cook and am
always looking for new recipes to try and share.
I am not a very good cook. In
fact, my husband makes dinner at our house. I do, however, love to bake. Mostly
deserts. My favorite this time of year is Peach Cobbler:
You’ll need:
½ cup of butter
½ cup of flour
½ cup of sugar
1 ½ teaspoons baking
powder
1/3 cup of milk
3 cups of PEELED sliced
peaches
½ teaspoon of vanilla
½ cup of sugar (for
later)
2 small bowls and a 9X9 baking dish
Slice and peel peaches (I think it is easier to
cut them into slices then take the skin off each slice) leave a small bowl. Pre-heat
the oven to 350 degrees. Melt the butter and pour it evenly into the 9X9 baking
dish. Blend flour, sugar, baking powder and milk together in a small bowl. Pour
over butter in the baking dish. Add vanilla to sliced peaches; carefully stir
peaches around to evenly spread the vanilla. Pour peaches over the flour mix in
the baking dish. Sprinkle ½ cup of sugar over the peaches. Bake uncovered for 1
hour at 350 degrees. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream.
