The Mafia
comes to Miracle, Wisconsin...
Mo Vincent,
the owner of Mo’s Place, is in agony because his soon-to-be divorced sous chef
is dating – but not him. He has his reasons for not asking her out. He did the
right thing back in New Jersey, and it cost him his son, his wife, his
restaurant. Now he’s found a home in Miracle. The village has accepted him, and
his new restaurant is doing well. He should be content with what he has...but
his heart wants more.
Chef Rosa
Fabrini’s divorce is one signature away when her cheating husband returns home
and expects her to forgive him. Her lawyer is AWOL, and her youngest son is
demanding she take his father back. Desperate to escape the turmoil, she asks
Mo to let her move into the empty apartment above the restaurant...right next
to his place.
Mo can’t
say no. His mind knows she’s forbidden fruit, but his heart dares to hope.
Until his past shows up, and he finds out sometimes it takes a village...

Excerpt :
This very short excerpt from Mo’s
Heart takes place after Rosa has been forced to leave her home, and she’s
temporarily staying in an apartment above Mo’s restaurant – right next to his
apartment.
She turned
to look at Mo bringing in the suitcases. How odd to think that seven months
ago, she hadn’t known him. It felt as if he’d been in her life for...well,
forever.
All this
ran through her mind in a second as Mo stopped beside her. “It’s not a palace.”
“I wouldn’t
know what to do in a palace.”
“You’d be
the queen. Anything you wanted.”
She
laughed, surprised by his comment. Surprised that she had laughter in her. “I’d
rather be a cook.”
“You are
that. The best sous-chef in the village.”
There was a
quiet moment between them, and a sense of peace sighed inside her as she looked
at his serious face and knew he saw her as a strong woman, a woman who was
temporarily down but not out. Never out. Not as long as she had breath.
She stood
taller.
“The
furniture is pretty ugly,” he said.
“I don’t
know. The couch is the same color as your eyes.”
“Do me a
favor?”
She looked
at him. He never asked her for favors. “Of course.”
“Run
downstairs and get my chef’s knife and bring it back up here.”
She laughed
again and felt a shift inside her. Like she imagined the earth felt when a
boulder in a precarious spot moved. “Why?”
“So you can
gouge my eyes out.”
My Review:
I love foodie romance !! Mo's Heart was a terrific detailed complete book, leaving me wanting to read what comes next. I loved how Ms. Ramer developed such great characters with them both being married previously with kids but are getting a second chance. It reminds me alot of my life actually and it made me love it even more. So much that I told my hubby I want to move our family to Miracle, even though we don't need to hide from the Mob, that i know of anyway :)
Kudos for Mo's Heart!! It had heart....dealt with real life and makes the reader stop and think but fall in love at the same time.
Edie Ramer, I want more !!! Great great job !!! Definitely a 5 start read :)

In my
stories, miracles are interrupted…but sometimes a few sneak through. I like to
think miracles happen in life, too. Part of the reason I feel this way is
because I was weaned on fairy tales. But when my mother unleashed me into the
aisles of my local library, I gravitated to Nancy Drew. I also devoured comic
books about Wonder Woman and Super Girl. My penchant for strong heroines who
don’t wait for men to save them is reflected in my books.
I started
my writing career selling short stories for mystery magazines and anthologies.
I’ve published quite a few paranormal romances and I’ve even tiptoed into the
sci fi romance genre. Now I write contemporary romance with heart and attitude
and magic. I love writing a magical realism series set in the small village of
Miracle, Wisconsin. These are stand-alone books, and anything can and does
happen. Everyone gets a chance to tell their story, from a cat to a young
blogger to a young woman to young seniors.
I don’t
think I’ll ever get bored with this series. I hope my readers feel the same
way. My goal is to make readers laugh a little, cry a little, and feel happy a
lot.
I live in
southeastern Wisconsin with my husband, dog and a very special cat. You can
