Author, author...

...read all about it !!

Today we are lucky enough to have Kacey Hammell back with another interview with her newest set of characters...Isabella & Brady...Yay !!!

Kacey: Good morning! Thanks again for stopping by Krista’s site to visit with me, Brady Jacobs & Isabella Knowles from ILLUSIONS and TIED DOWN. In TIED DOWN, it was a lot of fun to revisit these two.  Of course, a very fun part for me was battling another red head, and showing her who is boss.

Bella: What the hell, woman, you’ve lost your mind if you think you’re boss.

Kacey: Give it up, Bella, you know darn well that you were totally knocked on your ass in TIED DOWN. Hell, if people could have seen the surprise on your face, they’d laugh at you.

Bella: Go to hell. Look…

Brady: Ladies. Ladies! Really we go through this every time you’re together. Readers will never understand how the story—or should I say stories—got written if you hate one another. Now settle down.

Bella: Don’t tell me to settle down. She started it.

Kacey: Oh for god’s sake, we’re in grade school now.

Bella: Look…

Brady: Enough. Kacey, you have some questions for us?

My gaze narrows at Bella, who glares at me. I think the next book, I’ll have her fall down stairs or something, sheesh.

Kacey: Thank you, Brady, yes. How are you doing?

Brady: I’m fine, just fine. Thank you for sitting down with us today.

He grabs Bella’s hand and clasps it between his.

Kacey: I’m glad to be here with you…both. How are things going? Things settled down for the two of you, you’re both working together at the precinct. It’s commendable how you like to help, Brady.

Brady: Well, with these visions, it’s the best I can do for myself, to share this “gift” I’ve been given.

Bella: It takes a real man to stand up for what he believes in and set aside misgivings to share them with those around him.

Kacey: I agree. Bella, how do you cope with the visions? I know they happen anywhere, any place, is it difficult to not panic as they happen?

Bella: It can be difficult at times, but I’m there when I can be, and he’s stronger than many would think.

Brady: Ahh, ladies, you make me sound like something special. I’m just a man.

Kacey: You are special.

Bella glares at me. Bella: You’re a true hero, Jacobs. Don’t argue with me about it.

I roll my eyes. Bella and her ordering people around really drives me insane.

Kacey: I won’t reveal too much about what happened in TIED DOWN, but Bella, it was something that caught you by surprise. Would you say that it was exactly what you needed to sit up and take notice that it was time to make a commitment?

Bella: Well, I think it could have gone a bit more…smoothly I guess. It was a great surprise, a simple dinner and a movie would have sufficed.

Brady grins. Brady: But not nearly as much fun.

I laugh. Very true. The man is very mischievous.

Bella smiles slightly. Bella: Yes, it was fun. Adventurous.

The two share a smile and adoring looks. They really are the perfect pair. Both hold a big part of my heart.

Kacey: Bella, I look forward to featuring the event in one of the stories coming up in the series. I haven’t fully determined when that will be but I look forward to it.

Brady: Me too.

Bella: Just don’t go overboard. Really, the simpler the better.

Brady: I hope it’s all lavish and extravagant. You deserve it, Bella.

Bella shakes her head.

Kacey: It will happen as it happens. Now, Brady, if you had to describe Bella in three words what would they be?

Brady: Oh, that’s easy. Hard-headed, passionate and sexy.

Bella: That’s it? Come on, Jacobs, that’s all you got? What about open minded, generous, forgiving?

I chuckle. What a crock. Those are the least of the three words in the dictionary that I’d use to describe her.

Brady: You’re all those too, my love, but truthfully, my three come to mind first.

Kacey: Umm, Bella, what three words would you use to describe Brady?

Bella smiles. Bella: Hmm, definitely pigheaded, a pain in the ass and determined.

Brady: What about my sex appeal?

Bella: What about it? I don’t think anyone else needs to know about that.

Kacey: You can’t be serious. As if the readers don’t already know about his prowess in the bedroom, his spontaneity, his romantic side.

Bella: Well they don’t need to know more than what you have already shared with them. Christ, is nothing private?

Kacey: Not to the readers who love him.

Brady: And I love those readers as well. Bella, you know very well that readers like to know what makes us tick. And I forgot to add to my three words…you’re also the love of my life.

Bella’s face softens. Though we don’t always get along, I know how much she loves Brady. It’s the only thing that keeps me from making her life true hell.

Bella: And you’re mine.

Kacey: I’m so happy to see that look in both your eyes. You’re both so in love, it makes my heart hurt, and I’m filled with pride for what you’ve both overcome.

Brady: We love you, K, thank you for all you’ve done for us.

Bella: Yes, thank you.

I sniffle. An author is always teary-eyed when it comes to her characters.

Bella’s phone rings, breaking the silence. She looks down at the number and stands.

Bella: I have to go. Text from Connor. I’m needed on scene. Sorry, Kacey.

Kacey: I understand. I hope we can do this again.

Bella: Umm, sure. Sure. Yeah.

Brady stands and crosses to where I sit. He lifts my chin with his finger and presses his lips to mine. My heart races. Whew, he’s potent. Lips soft, firm. I hear Bella’s growl from somewhere in the room but don’t really care. This is my moment. He eases back.

Brady: Thank you, K., I’ll see you soon.

Bella glares at me, nods once then leaves. Brady closes the door behind them.

No matter how much she dislikes it, Bella will be seeing me very soon. The biggest day of her life is about to happen, and I might just make it all frilly, girly and crazy…exactly how she WON’T like it…

I smile, and start typing…

The time has come for Brady Jacobs to grab hold of the woman he loves and their future. But his lady, Isabella Knowles, is skittish. She’ll bolt at the mention of a future with him. He needs to handle her with precise planning, tools to seduce and never give her a moment to flee.

Brady will tie her down, pleasure her, push her farther than she’s ever experienced…then ask her to marry him. But no amount of planning can ensure Bella’s answer won’t include the business end of her Glock.

Isabella stirred at a tug on her ankle. She shifted, not in any way eager to wake up.

Snuggling her cheek deeper into the pillow, she sighed. The web of slumber curled around her as she relaxed again.

At the shuffle of footsteps and a thump, she stirred. Her eyes flew open and she lifted her head. As she shifted to her side, she gasped.

Why couldn’t she move?

Jesus, what the hell?

Danger screamed through her mind while she took in the room around her. Right where she’d fallen asleep, in Brady’s bed.

No need to fear for her safety. Right?

“What the fuck is this?” Damn the bindings around her wrists and feet. “Brady!” she screamed. She’d kill the bastard who dared to enter their personal space. Cripes, if he’s been hurt, she’d carve out their hearts and throw the bodies in the ocean.

“Brady!”

“I’m right here, babe.”

His head appeared over the foot of the bed. Her heart skipped a beat. Safe. Her head fell back in relief. She’d die if something happened to him. Could never relive him ever being hurt again. She’d barely survived once before when he’d been stabbed and almost blown to bits. She did not ever want to go through anything like it again.

“You okay, babe? These scarves aren’t too tight, are they?”

So lost in her own thoughts, she forgot she lay there, tied like some prisoner.

“What the hell? What’s going on?” He knelt at the end of the bed. She gaped as she took in her naked body, the scarves holding her legs and arms captive. Her heart rate accelerated. She had no control over any of this. Desperate to get out of the ties and the situation, she pulled hard, jerked her limbs to escape their captivity.

“Fuck! Goddamn it. Let me loose.”

...read all about it !!

Today we have the honor of being the last stop on the Yesterday's Heroes book tour and we get to find out a bit about the book and it's author, Heather Long !!

Welcome Heather, so great to have you here with us.  Can you tell us a little about yourself?
Thank you for having me! I'm a writer and this question is always so hard to answer because I don't tend to think of myself as interesting—but I really hope my books are. I read somewhere that if you go to sleep at night and dream of writing, wake up wanting to write, are distracted all day by the things you could be writing—then you just might be a writer. That pretty much sums me up—writing touches every part of my life.

Do real life events find their way into your stories?

Absolutely. Some events you can't shy away from and it took me ten years to be able to write anything that used 9/11 and then it appeared in two stories I wrote. Some events are—for lack of a better way to say it—fixed points. Whether it's Vietnam, the Marine Barracks bombing in 1982, the assassination of a president or the destruction of a space shuttle—they change us in some fundamental way and change the landscape of our personal histories. So those types of events absolutely make it into my books.

Do you ever mimic family members or people you know when you choose characters?

I have been inspired to create characters based on friends or family—but they remain inspirations. Most of the characters that appear in my head may be sparked by something else, but ultimately they develop as independent entities—not sure that makes a lot of sense unless you're in my head.

Do you find yourself going back to the same inspiration for each story or is it always something different?

Everything inspires me. I had a conversation on the phone a few days ago with a very dear friend and we were discussing something rather random, but it sparked a thought and I was like, huh, I wonder—and fifteen minutes later, I had a new story idea. It can be as simple as an offhand remark or a photograph or a song…or just something I see on the road while driving.

When do you write?  Early morning? During the day sometime or all day?  After the kids go to bed?

Early morning is the best time. I am fresh and alert. Lately though I tend to write in spurts all day long, as well. But I think I am my most creative in the morning.

How do you feel about marketing your book?

Honestly? Hardest part of the job—but while some people dream of fifteen minutes of fame—I dream of those last few pages as a reader closes the book and lets out a sigh of satisfaction and says 'damn that was good.'

What social sites do you feel work best for marketing?

There are so many and they each offer something unique to the mix. I tend to stick to Facebook and Twitter. Occasionally I will play on Yahoo Groups and visit readers via chats they host which are fun, too.

Do you like to pitch stories to your publisher or do you wait until you have written the story and have a final manuscript to turn in?
I have done both. I've sent in proposals while I've been working on a book or the whole book if it's a new publisher. With my established editors, I pitch story ideas and then run with the ones they like.

Is there any other genre that you would love to try writing?  If so, what is it?

A real spy thriller. I just finished a book called The Lady is a Thief and it had a lot of action, spy elements and I really enjoy action adventure.

Do you always/ever see yourself as the heroine/hero when you write a story?

No. These characters are themselves and I am just their 'facilitator' to get the story out.

Just for fun, I have a few personal questions,
Favorite 5
1)    Favorite Male Actor  - Chris Hemsworth
2)    Favorite vehicle -  Jeep
3)    Favorite way to relax – A massage
4)    Favorite ice cream – Mint chocolate chip
5)    Favorite outfit – I have these red jeans that I just bought this summer – LOVE them

And for a bonus:  If you could pick any place in the world to live, besides where you are now, where would it be?  (Of course, without the hindrance of jobs or money needed)

Hmm, I'd like to live somewhere there are four seasons—conversely, I wouldn't mind Hawaii for a couple of years.

Today we have a guest post and this author is sharing a recipe and her newest book release!!!

I love recipes :)

Please welcome:      Wendi Zwaduk

I got this from the Neelys and it's called Green Beans and Bacon.  I know.  Super hard title.  But it's REALLY good - even if I'm bad and leave off the pecans!  And since it's the season to share and watch the leaves...and eat yummy food, here's

Green Beans and Bacon !!

Total Time:  35 min.
Prep:  15 min.
Cook:  20 min.
Yield:  6 to 8 servings
Level:  Easy

Ingredients
2 1/2 pounds green beans, trimmed
Kosher salt
1/2 pound bacon, roughly chopped
1 small yellow onion, finely chopped
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
1/2 cup chopped toasted pecans
Juice of 1/2 a lemon
Freshly ground pepper

Directions

Toss the green beans into a large pot of boiling salted water and cook until bright green in color and crisp-tender, about 5 minutes.  Drain the beans and shock in a large bowl of ice water to stop the cooking.  Drain the beans again and pat dry.

Cook the bacon in a large, heavy saute pan until crisp, about 5 minutes.  Remove the bacon to a paper towel-lined plate to drain.  Spoon off the excess bacon grease, leaving 2 tablespoons in the pan.  Add the onion to the pan and saute until soft and very tender, 4 to 5 minutes.  Sprinkle in the garlic and red pepper flakes and saute until just fragrant, about 1 more minute.  Add the reserved green beans and the pecans and cook until heated through, 5 to 6 minutes more.  Return the bacon to the pan, pour in the lemon juice and toss.  Season with salt and pepper.

Today we have a guest blog :)

Naughty Little Bedtime Stories by Tamaria Soana

The idea for Naughty Little Bedtime Stories came from a writing exercise I used to do to sharpen my sexy scene writing skills. I would look for a steamy image and write around a thousand words describing it. An author friend suggested I lengthen a few and Naughty Little Bedtime Stories was born.
Writing NLBS (Naughty Little Bedtime Stories) was both fun and challenging. When you’re working with 12 heroes and heroines things can be a bit chaotic.  The two hardest stories to write were Spicing Things Up the ménage (M/M/F), I never wrote M/M before, and the story Giving In, this was my first attempt at writing light bondage.
My favorite story in the book is was Last Call. It’s a May/December. In my younger years I was a bartender /cocktail waitress, so it was fun to write this heroine as a bartender falling for an older man.
Naughty Little Bedtime Stories is meant to fun little escape. I thought even adults needed a good bedtime story!
Also when writing NLBS I found myself stretching my wings and writing ‘outside’ my box so-to-speak. There is a light bondage story called Giving In and a ménage (M/M/F) called Spicing Things Up. Writing both was a new experience for me.
I’ve always wanted to write a BDSM scene but never thought I could pull it off. I enjoy reading the lighter BDSM stories that are romanced based. My heroine in Giving In has some past ghosts to deal with. My hero wants her to give up some control so he can give pleasure beyond anything she’s experienced before. This short story was hard for me to write, but I’m a little more comfortable with the topic now and maybe I’ll even stretch my wings further someday!
As for Spicing Things Up, that was a whole different story. This was my first ménage writing experience and my first M/M. To say this was difficult for me is a HUGE understatement. I re-wrote this story many times until I was happy with it. Writing the threesome scenes were easier than writing the M/M ones to say the least.
Naughty Little Bedtime Stories is meant to fun little escape. I thought even adults needed a good bedtime story!

Bedtime stories that will heat up your night.

Naughty Little Bedtime Stories contains twelve short stories that will arouse your senses.  You'll find stories that contain light bondage, food play, menage (m/m/f), and other erotic events.  Each story has a different setting and couple who explore all things naughty in and out of the bedroom.

Excerpts

EXCERPT FROM Strawberries and Whipped Cream

We ate dinner, drank some wine, and talked about our week.  Maybe tonight I would finally p  After cleaning up, I refilled our glasses.

Did you get something for dessert?  Emma asked.

I smiled.  "Yes, I did.  Why don't you go into the living room and make yourself comfortable while I get it ready."

Okay.  Are you sure you don't need help?

I'm sure.

After she left the kitchen, I gathered the bowl of strawberries and can whipped cream from the fridge.  I walked in the room to find her on the couch, sipping her wine.  I sat down next to her and placed the food on the coffee table.

"I  love strawberries, but why the can of whipped cream?"  she asked with a twinkle in her eyes.

Close your eyes.  No peeking, I whispered in her ear.

I took a strawberry and traced her bottom lip with it.  She opened her mouth slightly, and I allowed her to take a small bite.  A low  moan escaped her lips, and my dick twitched in response.  I began to feed her another piece of fruit.  My cock was getting harder by the minute as I watched her lips wrap around the strawberries.

"I want to feed one" she said as she opened her eyes.

"I have a better idea.  Close your eyes" I said in a deep voice.

Emma sighed and closed her eyes.  I picked up a strawberry and touched her bottom lip with it, and she opened her mouth to take it in.  I leaned in and bit the other end, letting our lips meet and eliciting a faint squeal from her.

"Would you like some whipped cream?"  I asked her as I grabbed the can and shook it.

"Yes," she whispered.

I squirted some whipped cream on her bottom lip.  She seductively licked them while looking at me lustfully.  I groaned, shifted to adjust myself, and placed my lips on hers.  She wrapped her arms around me and the kiss deepened.  Our tongues rubbed against each other.  She tasted like whipped cream.  Pulling away I placed kisses down her neck and made my way to her chest.  I lifted her shirt over her head.  She was wearing a pink lace bra.

"Beautiful," I whispered as I reached around her and unhooked her bra.  I slid the strapsoff her arms, placing more kisses on her neck.
"Lay back," I told her as I took my shirt off.

I unbuttoned her jeans and slowly unzipped them.  She lifted herself up as I slid them down her amazing legs and threw them on the floor.  She was a sight to behold in just a pair of pink boy shorts.

"Do you trust me?"  I asked.

EXCERPT FROM Instant Attraction

We walked out of the restaurant and down the hall into the main lobby of the hotel, my eyes scanning for any photographers.  I really didn't want my face all over the tabloids tomorrow.

"I had a great time meeting you today.  So, what now?   Slade asked as he looked deep into my eyes.

"I don't know," I whispered.  I didn't want the afternoon to end.

"I don't want to leave you just yet, Jewel," he whispered in a sexy tone.

I bit my bottom lip and started to fidget.  "Then don't."  I took a deep breath, trying to figure out everything that was racing through my head.  "Would you like to come to my suite for a drink, maybe?"  I couldn't believe I'd just asked him that, but I knew what I wanted, and at the moment it was him.

"I thought you'd never ask."

We stepped in the elevator and the doors closed.  We were alone.  Before I could process what I was doing, I was kissing him.  The simple kiss set all the nerves in my body on fire.  The elevator stopped and I pulled away as the doors opened.

"This is my floor," I said breathlessly.

We walked into the hallway in silence.  The tension between us was so strong.  We reached my suite and I swiped my card to open the door.  I could feel his gaze on me, it was making me nervous and turning me on at the same time.  My stomach was in knots as I walked in, but not that bad kind of knots, the I-want-to-jump-him kind of knots.  He was making me crazy.  I truly just wanted to go with what I was feeling.  I was so attracted to him.  As soon as the door shut Slade pushed me against the wall and started kissing me.

"Jewel, you are so alluring," he said as he kissed my neck.

"Slade," I moaned.  Icould feel how hard he was as he pressed harder into me.

"I want you," he said as his hand grazed my breast.  "Do you want me?"

"Yes!"  My heart was pounding in my chest as I led him to the bed.  His urgent lips were on mine.  He unzipped my sundress and it fell to the floor, leaving me in only a black lace bra and thong.

"So sexy," he whispered in my ear as he kissed my neck.

EXCERPT FROM The Great Outdoors

Once I knew it was safe, I took off on my horse. I looked back to see that Kristen was in hot pursuit. I enjoyed the feeling of an all-out run with this amazing creature under me. I tugged on the reins and slowed as we came to the opening of the meadow. I dismounted and watched Kristen slow her horse to a stop and dismount with ease and grace.

“This place is beautiful,” she said as she looked around the meadow.

“I found it a few years ago. I used to come here for some peace and quiet,” I responded as I laid out the blanket. “Sit, let’s have lunch, then we can walk around and explore,” I said as I gave her one of my panty-dropping smirks. I knew how to push her buttons.

“Explore?” She had a twinkle in her eye. “Why, cowboy, what do you have in mind?” she asked in her best southern drawl.

“Let’s eat first.” I unloaded the picnic basket and laid out the food.

It was a beautiful Texas afternoon. We talked and joked as we lay on the blanket, feeding each other grapes and cheese. I could have stayed there forever with her. We finished our lunch and cleaned up. I pulled her toward me and planted a hard, passionate kiss on her lips. She moaned and I took the moment to slide my tongue in her mouth and against hers. Our hands roamed up and down each other’s bodies.

Suddenly, she pulled away and took off running. “Catch me if you can!” she goaded me.

I let her get a head start.  I watched as she unbuttoned her shirt, slid it off, and discarded it.  My girl was naughty!  Her bra came off next and she tossed it to the side.  She turned and looked at me, tipped her cowboy hat, smirked, and ran like hell deeper into the meadow.

Tamaria Soana is middle aged, but just feels her life has begun.  She writes sexy contemporary romance stories that always end with a 'happily ever after'.  Growing up she loved to read and make up new places in her head to escape to.  In her late teens she began writing short stories and poetry; it wasn't until her late thirties before she began to spin a full story.

She's married anda stay-at-home mom of two beautiful young girls, they reside in Western New York.  Cuddling up with a good book underan electric throw is her way to escape the cold Buffalo nights.

Besides writing, she co-owns Shades of Rose Marketing and hosts a talk
show on Talkshoe called Live with Tamaria ~ Giving authors a voice.
